It’s all about mobility – BPW Group at NUFAM fair

  • BPW Group is demonstrating how to succeed in the quest to optimise the transport industry
  • BPW, Hestal and idem telematics brands are exhibiting in Hall 2 on Booth C 205

Wiehl, 14.9.2017 --- At this year’s commercial vehicle trade fair (NUFAM) in Karlsruhe (28.9. until 1.10.), the BPW booth (C 205 in Hall 2) is focusing on solutions for optimising mobility. The brands BPW, Hestal and idem telematics are showing products that enable vehicle operators to ensure trailer reliability while reducing costs, minimising downtimes and utilising the best processes and routes.

One example is the all-in-one telematics platform cargofleet 3 developed by telematics. It interconnects trucks, trailers, vans and swap bodies with the driver, dispatcher, shipper and recipient. Cargofleet 3 integrates all the conventional telematics functions, from recording driver and vehicle data to logging driving and break times, as well as location tracking and comprehensive temperature monitoring. It also encompasses a door monitor, records loading and unloading times, and processes the truck’s FMS data and the trailer’s EBS data to illuminate both utilisation and driving patterns.

The BPW subsidiary Hesterberg is attending NUFAM with flat-bed and curtainsider bodies in the light to medium-weight vehicle categories. These HESTAL-branded body kits are especially light and therefore pave the way for higher payloads. Their key attributes are strength and longevity. Thanks to clamp and screw fittings, the kits are also quick and easy to assemble. Also featuring at the trade fair is the patented strap lift system HESTAL CargoMaster, which allows the cargo to be secured swiftly and simply. Given that the driver no longer has to sling the straps over the load or enter the cargo space, he can secure the load with the HESTAL strap lift system in less than half the time required with conventional strapping systems.

For its part, the international mobility partner BPW is bringing new products to the fair that enhance the safety and efficiency of the transport industry. AirSave is an efficient solution for automatically regulating tyre pressure and warning of impending tyre failure. A new aluminium hub likewise promises to improve transport efficiency. It reduces the mass of lightweight three-axle semitrailers by 54 kilograms. Heralding higher payloads and increased revenues, this solution is especially suitable for tankers and silo vehicles. BPW is also exhibiting its extended range of the air suspension Airlight II, which is now even more versatile. Its modular design principle gives rise to great diversity, from weight-optimised running gear in the nine-tonne category to twelve-tonne low loader solutions.

A further highlight of BPW’s attendance at the fair is to be seen in the outdoor arena, where a converted parcel delivery vehicle is showcasing its electric axle drive eTransport. This innovation can reduce the pollution and noise conventionally associated with city centre delivery traffic.
