Wiehl, 11 August 2026 --- Increasing efficiency in the transport sector without increasing complexity: At the IAA Transportation 2026, BPW will be presenting the intelligent iC Plus trailer running gear generation with extended functions. New data models provide in-depth insights into freight, vehicle and road – without the need for additional sensors.

In a market with rising costs and tightly timed supply chains, total transparency about the trailer becomes a decisive competitive advantage. With the latest functions of the iC Plus running gear generation, BPW is once again setting standards: the digitally networked system acts as the central interface of the trailer and provides precise information that go beyond the running gear.

Maximum efficiency through intelligent data models

BPW and its subsidiary idem telematics consistently use software to generate information from existing EBS systems and running gear components. This approach makes iC Plus the benchmark for anticipatory and economical driving. At IAA, BPW iC Plus comes with three new functions that make the trailer even more transparent, safer and more economical:

• Predictive Brake anomaly detection: The system detects thermal irregularities in real time. This protects technology, freight and vehicles, prevents expensive breakdowns – and ensures greater safety on the road.
• Road condition monitoring: For the first time, road quality can be measured objectively. Fleet managers can see what stresses the vehicle has been exposed to on certain routes and proactively optimize route planning and maintenance.
• Brake pad wear estimation: For the first time, BPW makes it possible to detect brake wear and residual pad thickness on the basis of intelligent algorithms – without the need for additional sensors. The remaining range is displayed in kilometers.

Proven features for daily payload maximization

These features complement the established range of functions offered by iC Plus, which already defines the standard for modern and digitalised running gear technology. A groundbreaking function is axle load detection: It monitors the current weight on the axles permanently and without external scales – with an accuracy of up to ten percent. Dispatchers get the most of each trailer's payload, avoiding empty runs and eliminating the risk of overloading fines.

The functions presented at IAA mark only the beginning. BPW is continuously developing the software-based analysis functions of iC Plus. The aim is to gradually expand the trailer into a digital assistant that recognizes the condition of crucial components before they result in unplanned downtimes or unnecessary costs.

Simplicity as a system: intuitive control and personal advice

Together with functions such as the digital maintenance calendar and the connection to tyre pressure monitoring and tyre pressure refill systems such as BPW AirSave, the trailer becomes a fully networked, transparent unit.

To ensure that data does not become a burden iC Plus presents all information graphically in the integrated cargofleet 3 portal from idem telematics, allowing users to check the status easily. The system only alerts users when action is required.

BPW offers free, personal application advice for digital solutions to make it easier to get started with the new trailer efficiency. Experts ensure that iC Plus reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO) from the very first kilometre. At IAA, BPW underlines this promise: the first year of use of the cargofleet 3 portal is free of charge. The telematics gateway hardware can be retrofitted. This also enables existing fleets to be seamlessly integrated into the logistics of the future.
