idem telematics once again emerges as class leader in the industry

  • idem telematics received the 2020 Telematik Award (German Telematics Award) for the category "Telematics for refrigerated transport".
  • The all-in-one telematics platform, cargofleet 3, offers a range of innovate functions.
  • Instead of an event at the IAA, the 2020 awards will be celebrated with a three-week digital event.

Munich/Ulm 23.9.2020 --- The precision and unconditional reliability of truck and trailer telematics is essential for the transport of food and pharmaceuticals and idem telematics impressed the expert jury of the Telematics Awards with its innovative, tried and tested solutions. In 2020, the company has received an award in the category "Telematics for refrigerated transport". Representatives from the world of science and business, as well as industry journalists, users and experts thus awarded the company the highest score in an independent rating.

The idem telematics solution combines everything in one portal

With its all-in-one telematics platform, cargofleet 3, idem telematics offers the perfect tool for monitoring refrigerated transport. Functions such as temperature recording, door status monitoring and monitoring of the cooling unit tank level, control of the door locking mechanism and individually adjustable alarm messages ensure that the refrigeration chain and the corresponding documentation is monitored at all times. The system complies with the European standard EN12830 and the European guideline for Good Distribution Practice (GDP), among others, to ensure that temperature-sensitive food and medication are transported safely and reliably.

The system is not limited to specific vehicle types such as semitrailers, but instead has solutions for a wide range of vehicle types. This means that the entire fleet and even the transfer point can be accommodated.

Extensive comfort functions and interfaces - both for the integration of third-party products as well as for targeted data forwarding - complete the system, making it a central and indispensable component of the Internet of Transport.

Class leader in the industry

The Telematics Award is one of the industry's most prestigious awards in the German-speaking world. It recognises the industry's outstanding achievements and aims to showcase them to the general public along with future trends using best-practice examples. The award is celebrating its tenth birthday in 2020. In all previous years, the presentation has been celebrated as part of an event at IAA Commercial Vehicles. Now the organiser of the event, the media group Telematik-Markt.de, has put together a three-week online programme for the award's anniversary, which kicked off on the 7th September. It started with a themed week, as part of which future projects, along with their inventors and initiators, were presented under the heading "#TelematikThinktank". In the second week, podcasts were presented under the heading "#TelematikTalk", which recorded conversations with experts. The highlight is the award ceremony in the third week, where the winners of each category are invited to the stage for the day to present their solutions. Dr. Bernd Althusmann, Deputy Minister-President and State Minister for Economic Affairs for Lower Saxony, and Dr. Kurt-Christian Scheel, Managing Director of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), an award partner from the very beginning, will continue to act as patrons in 2020.

Digital independence for forwarders: idem telematics wins German Telematics Award

Europe's leading trailer telematics system is also the best. This is the verdict given by the German Telematics Award panel of experts, one which is bestowed once every two years: idem telematics successfully relies on the principle of system openness in order to network practically everything in transport – including competing third-party systems. That's why forwarders also give top marks.
