Thanks to innovative running gear technology from BPW, low-loaders are becoming increasingly versatile and even more manoeuvrable.

BPW: Top engineering for low loader trailers

Low loader trailers are used on the road and off-road, because no other vehicle type transports large, heavy and complex goods from A to B more efficiently. Thanks to innovative running gear technologies, low loader trailers are becoming increasingly versatile and even more manoeuvrable. At bauma (outdoor area north, stand 827/9), market leader BPW will be showing what is technically possible.

Trailers for special transport are among the crowd pullers at bauma in Munich. The common denominator: they roll on axles and running gear solutions from BPW.

BAUMA 22: Market leader BPW wants to continue growth with running gears for special vehicles

Ever larger, heavier loads are being transported by road: trailers that move 80-metre-long wind turbine blades, entire drilling rigs or concrete bridge sections weighing up to 1,000 tons attract all kinds of people to bauma in Munich, not just experts. And the common denominator on the most impressive vehicles? The BPW logo on the hub cap. The market leader expects a sustained trend of growth.

For its electrohydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control, BPW is introducing an app that provides quick access to all relevant information via a Bluetooth interface to the system's control unit.

System configuration by smartphone: BPW ARC App for electrohydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control

BPW's electrohydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control (ARC) for Self-steering axles has already made it easier to reverse with truck drawbar trailers and semitrailers in tight manoeuvring spaces. Now BPW is also making initial commissioning, function checks and diagnostics of this systems easier with the BPW ARC App, available to download for free for Android and IOS devices.

BPW's Active Reverse Control now also gives low loader trailers exceptional manoeuvrability when reversing.

BPW is now also making low loader trailers a dream to manoeuvre

Large manoeuvring areas for deliveries are a luxury that construction site logistics specialists can only dream of. On inner-city construction sites, things are especially tight – and not only with regard to space, but also in terms of timing. Drawbar trailers can now manoeuvre faster and more safely with an innovative auxiliary steering system from BPW.

Safer loading, more flexible manoeuvres: BPW receives two ‘Trailer Innovation 2019’ awards

BPW can once again celebrate its win of an important innovation prize – twice over. A jury of 16 international trade journalists and experts from the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) selected two innovations from BPW for the ‘Trailer Innovation 2019’ award. Both innovations combine a significant gain in safety with substantial cost savings for vehicle operators.

With the new electro-hydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control, for the first time, BPW is tapping into the benefits of self-steering axles for reversing manoeuvres, too.

IAA 2018: BPW presents innovative electro-hydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control

BPW will be showcasing its new electro-hydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018 in Hanover (Hall 26, Stand C31). This innovative system supports the steering functionality of trailers and is light, cost-effective and low-maintenance. This independent solution does not require approval, is particularly easy to install and can also be retrofitted.
