At the international trade fair for logistics and mobility "transport logistic" in Munich (9 - 12 May), the BPW Group will be focusing its trade fair presentation in Hall A6, Stand 310 on efficiency, safety and sustainability. Under the motto "Solutions for driving value in transport", the group of companies is providing answers to the most urgent questions in the transport industry.

The trailer has a significant impact on how economical and climate-friendly the transport is. The EU has also recognised this; from 2024 on the EU will be certifying trailers according to their CO2 emissions. BPW products already fulfil the requirements of the EU simulation tool VECTO, which makes it easier to compare trailers and rewards climate-friendly technologies with a CO2 bonus.

Solutrans Lyon: BPW confirms leadership claim for axles, running gear and digital transport connectivity

At the Solutrans trade fair in Lyon, the BPW Group confirmed their claim to being European technology leader for axls, running gear systems and the digital networking of driver, freight and vehicle. For the first time, BPW and Thermo King are presenting a climate-efficient cooling system for trailers together that recovers energy through an innovative, intelligent running gear.

Dr Gunnar Heymer, works doctor for BPW, will now also treat truck drivers who fall ill on the road. BPW is a member of the DocStop initiative, which provides truck drivers with medical treatment while on the road if they call the Europe-wide hotline on 00800 03627867. BPW Managing Director Michael Pfeiffer calls on other companies to do more to ensure the well-being of truck drivers.

Even with heavy factory traffic, the rumbling diesel noise is becoming increasingly rare at BPW in Wiehl as more and more electric forklifts, transporters, company cars and even two mighty 40-ton trucks whizz silently across the premises.

Between 2017 and 2018, BPW Bergische Achsen KG reduced its CO2 emissions by 60 percent to 7,855 tonnes. This dramatic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions at the main production plant was made possible by shifting to green electricity and e-mobility. However, the family business sees the highest potential for more climate protection in its innovations for transport and logistics.

BPW accomplishes wholesale switch to green electricity and publishes sustainability report

BPW Bergische Achsen KG of Wiehl in the west of Germany is not only an innovation leader in the transport and logistics sector, but also ranks among the pioneers as regards sustainability. The company switched to procuring all of its electricity from renewables in the summer and has now published its first sustainability report in compliance with the UN Global Compact.

Energy Awards acknowledge eTransport as a highly innovative idea in the quest to shift to renewables

eTransport, the electric axle drive developed by BPW, has grabbed first prize for mobility in the finals of the Energy Awards. The accolade recognises the drive as one of the most innovative ideas in the drive towards renewable energy sources. The Energy Awards serve the purpose of highlighting progress and changes being made in the sector, and acknowledging outstanding projects and ideas.
